Welcome to my brand new website!
I have been involved with the Citizens Theatre for 5 years and completed 6 successful projects ( Experimenting On Woyzeck, Shots From Across Town, Greeks Geeks and Party Myths, The Chicago Project, Doctors and The Devils, Reflections on The River ) all as an original Young Co. member. I'm also part of Ankur Productions adult group which is a multi-cultural Arts & Drama group to which I have performed in a production called 'Detainee A' (The Arches) and 'Love's Times Beggar' (Tron Theatre).
This lead to myself working in a mainstream environment with The Comedy Unit in 'Fags Mags and Bags'. I received media coverage in The Evening Times; a double paged spread in October '07.The show has won the Writers Guild Award. The show was nominated for a 'Sony Academy Radio Award'. We have had 3 series and we've been commissioned a 4th series.
The show has filmed 6 promotional video clips which are streaming on through Youtube.
Also, with the Comedy Unit, I have performed a series of sketches as a stand up performer at 'The Stand Comedy Club' in the West End of Glasgow.
In the autumn of 2009, I joined the cast of 'Limmy's Show'; a sketch show for BBC2 Scotland which aired January '10. The show has been commissioned a 2nd series.
I was shortlisted down to the final 4 for a Scottish BME Achievement Awards in the 'Young Male of the Year Award' in 2008. Also, in 2008, I won the Young Scottish Muslim award in the 'Arts and Entertainment' Category.
I am part of the 'Active Life Club' who won the Community Champions Team Awards for Pollokshields & Southside Central for their contribution to young people in the area.
I believe that I am showing leadership skills to break barriers for many Asian Young People, to involve them in Arts and Culture and to help spread a message of becoming peaceful young citizens, to contribute in this society where we live in.
